PSLE Oral Picture (2)
The picture depicts a ward in a hospital. The patient is an old man that looks in his 70s and 80s. The patient may not come from a well-income family at the looks of the ward.
Scenario 1 (normal)
From the condition of the old man, he may have broken or dislocated his leg. A nurse is attending patiently to the old man with a radiant smile. The old man has a face that seems to be saying thank you to the nurse. The old man should be more prudent in his actions as a simple slip may cause him to break his bones. People like him, who is in their golden years should be more aware of their surroundings and that there is no potential danger. Their body are fragile and weak and may not be able to withstand the injury if they are hurt.
I will suggest the old man to take daily walks in the park for fresh oxygen in the morning. Furthermore, he should do some simple exercises that help to strengthen his muscles and bones. He can also drink milk as they contain calcium which is good for bones. I hope that he can have a speedy recovery so that he can lessen the hospital bills if he is not from a well-income family.
Scenario 2 (Wrong and consequence)
A little girl, wearing a flower-patterned skirt, is running around the ward. A little boy, who may be his brother, is chasing after her. They are squealing with joy from the looks of their faces. A women in her middle age, is staring sternly at the children. She looks incensed at the behaviour of the children. She may be the mother of the children and she may have come to visit her father. Such filial piety displayed is rare as people nowadays are neglecting their old-aged parents or grandparents for the sake of work and family.
On the other hand, the two children should not be playing in the ward. The path is narrow and potentially dangerous. They may trip and fall on each other. With the equipments around, the result may be disastrous. Moreover, with the noise level they are occurring, they may be interrupting the rest of the patient. They should be better taught the value of discipline. Inculcating values in children is very important as it determines the child’s future.
I will suggest the mother of the children to stop them instantaneously.
Conclusion
A ward is a place where injured, sick patients stay for medical attention. Dangerous activities such as running should be avoided with the potential danger. We must also keep silent as patients need their rest to recuperate. I hope elderly people can take better care of themselves and be more careful in their actions.
